Description

This intensive workshop will focus on the grant writing process and guide participants in learning about funding sources, the definition and important aspects of grants, qualities of effective grant writing, the grant writing process, and the parts of a grant. Participants will be guided through activities in which they will develop parts of a grant proposal, and will leave the workshop with the knowledge and confidence to continue with the process in their programs.

  • Participants will be introduced to all aspects of grant writing, including what grants are, where funding comes from, and the specific parts of grants so they will have a better understanding of the process and increased confidence to write and submit for funding. 
  • Participants will take part in a variety of mini writing activities throughout the workshop to practice developing the different parts of a grant, and will leave the workshop with a drafted grant submission that can be used for their programs. 
  • Participants will learn the qualities of effective grant writing and the process that will give them the optimum chance to successful fund procurement through group discussions, idea sharing and consideration of different scenarios.
  • Participants will practice their writing skills and begin to develop ideas that can be used as grant submissions. 

We encourage you to participate in real time but if you aren’t able to join LIVE, a recording will be available for replay for 30 days after the event

Who should join? Anyone interested in securing funding for youth and mindfulness programs – yoga teachers, studio owners, program directors, parents, school-teachers, administrators, therapists, and educational service providers. Both for-profit and not-for-profit entities write grants and Natalie will discuss common funding arrangements partnerships between businesses and non-profit organizations, schools, or individuals that can result in grant-funded programming.

About Natalie Aiello

Natalie became a certified Yoga Instructor after completing a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in Kripalu Yoga and a 95 hour Kids Yoga Teacher Training through Flow and Grow Kids Yoga. With over 20 years of formal and informal teaching experience, Natalie has skills to work with youth of all ages, and even adults. Currently employed as a 4-H Educator for Penn State University, Natalie has over 10 years of experience in grant writing and implementation. She enjoys the outdoors, and spending time with her family and friends!
