Claire Matthews

Claire’s first experience with yoga brought her relief from chronic neck pain and an inspired appreciation for the physical body and its abilities.   Learning more about yoga’s healing possibilities and preventative philosophies, Claire achieved qualifications as a yoga teacher and children’s yoga teacher. Claire is now a Lead Trainer, E-RYT 500 and RCYT registered with Yoga Alliance and runs two yoga studios with Adult, Teen and Children’s programming.

Claire’s adult classes are alignment based and breath focused but the children’s classes are themed yoga journeys offered in studio. Teen leadership programing has effortlessly become her studios second most supported revenue stream, followed only by Teacher Training. Yoga offers philosophies and coping strategies that forward thinking teens can relate to and elevates them into a higher level of awareness than many adults. Her studio’s Teen Leadership program enjoys consistently full enrollment and program expansion, with teens truly connected to their practice. It is the most fulfilling class to teach as it supports youth in their rise to teacher and community leader.

Claire’s intention is to make yoga accessible to youth within the comfort of a studio setting and engage them in community efforts where they can practically share their leadership skills. Yoga Truly, founded by Claire offers the Ambassador Yoga Teacher Training for Teens inspiring them to become yoga teachers themselves. Ambassador Yoga is a program co-designed with Aruna Humphrys founder of Young Yoga Masters.
